The Bridal Survival Guide

Hello future bride-to-be! This is where everything finally comes together. Your one stop shop to survive the wedding planning process and create a beautiful wedding day you’ll share with your grandchildren one day.

Hire the right professionals.

You don’t want to hire your cousin who has a camera. While he may take good pictures, having an experienced photography team will ensure you won’t have to worry about the changing light conditions, awkward posing, or moments that aren’t captured. The same principle applies to your other vendors as well. Hire a florist who specializes in wedding florals from the bride’s bouquet to the reception decor. A DJ who understands your wedding colors and can bring life to your hall with his lighting and move the crowd with great music.

A planner will save your life!

Trust me, you don’t need to wear 20 hats on your wedding day. The only thing going on that head should be a gorgeous veil. A wedding planner will take your vision for your wedding day and make it come to life. She’ll communicate with the other vendors to ensure everything is going according to plan. If something does go amiss, your planner will handle the situation well before it reaches your ears. You should be able to enjoy your wedding as a bride, not as a boss micromanaging his employees.

Include a first look in your timeline.

If you haven’t guessed already, we’re huge fans of the first look! Not only will this calm down the nerves and pre-wedding jitters, but spending some alone time with your soon-to-be is guaranteed to make some magical moments.

Your Maid of Honor is your lifeline.

You chose your maid of honor for a reason. This girl has been through thick and thin with you. You can trust her with anything. Have her be the point of contact for all the vendors. Your planner and maid of honor should be able to handle most of the situations so you can enjoy your day. Give her your phone. Most people will be sending congratulatory texts or asking directions to the wedding. If anything important needs to be answered, she can take care of that as well.

Have the bridal survival kit.

This is your go-to survival kit for all emergencies. Include all your essentials: phone, lipstick, perfume, deodorant, mints, sunscreen, powder for touch ups, hair spray, first aid kit, chapstick, tissues, bobby pins, etc. Have your designated helper have these essentials accessible throughout the day.

Don’t forget to eat and hydrate!

Your wedding day is a full day of celebration. It’s important to hydrate yourself, especially on a particularly hot, sunny day. Be sure to get on those granola bars, or if you’re like me, dive into a hearty breakfast to keep you going for the rest of the day. A drink or two helps calms the nerves too!

We hope you enjoyed this bridal survival guide and that it helped you to successfully enjoy your wedding day! We know that planning a wedding can be stressful, but it is also an incredibly exciting time. We hope that you were able to relax and enjoy the day, and that it was everything you had dreamed of and more. Congratulations on your marriage!
